Opened in 2011 by some mid-twenties swing dancers, the Mobtown Ballroom was built by our community, both literally and figuretively.

2011: a handful of mid-twenties swing dancers turn an abandoned Baltimore church into a dance floor, building it themselves with volunteers who'd never touched a nail gun. Fifteen years, one relocation, and one rebuilt floor later, we're still standing — and we're still loud. So we're throwing ourselves a party: three nights, live music, real competition, one Honky Tonk and two jazz. Meschiya Lake, who sang our very first note back in 2011, is coming back to help us bring the house down.
