Announcement from Sarah and Michael: On August 16th, we will be closing the daytime portion of our cafe. We opened it to create work-hours activity on the block and because, at the time, we were in a bit of a holding pattern and waiting to hear about future building options. We are currently working with the development team here at North Avenue Market on a permanent place in the building, and, while this is exciting, to pull it off we need to redirect all of our resources towards developing a robust evening/dinner food program.
We hope that this will merely by a hiatus—and we are keeping our eyes out for ways to keep espresso going in Station North—as we prepare for the future. This is a bittersweet development for us. We have dearly loved the way that the cafe regulars spend whole days in here, working, yammering, bullshitting with the staff. Thank you so much to all of the staff, community members, organizations, and regulars who have made the cafe so special.
Starting in late August, you can look forward to a broader array of dinner options and deserts at our evening events. Our chef Jake Cornman is moving fast.
While the cafe will stay open until August 16th, our very own goth barista Autumn is moving on to other things after this week. Friday morning (7/25) is her last day, so stop by the cafe to order some coffee, give her a tip, and send her off with love.
