The Mobtown Ballroom is located in a deconsecrated, 19th-century Episcopalian church that had seen better days when we found it. We have respectfully maintained its original splendor while making some improvements, including the installation of a gorgeous, 3,000 square-foot oak floor (the best dance floor on the East Coast). Wherever possible our alterations were made using repurposed materials within the building, leaving this space with a classic and flexible elegance. We run weekly events--our legendary Monday and Friday swing and Lindy Hop dances--as well as live music events, dance and circus arts classes, and weddings.

We are proud to be the longtime home of In the Dark Circus Arts, led by the great Kelly Jo Chartier.

For more on our style and vibe, explore some of the links on this page. We take our place in this city and in Pigtown very seriously, and we try to do business like moral adults. Everyone is welcome here, but racism, homophobia, transphobia, or creepy behavior will be dealt with swiftly. We do our best to take care of one another. Try it out--we think you'll like it.
